| I don't see any point in arguing it in court. Your state has a law (like mine) that you need to have a front plate. You didn't. End of story. $132 does seem like a lot though. Perhaps going to court will get it reduced. Best of luck. Oh, and about the Marine Patrol dude....I don't know how the jurisdiction thing works in Maine, but here in CA, any Cop, no matter where he is from can write a ticket. Hell, the school district I used to attend in San Jose had employed one officer. He drove a Crown Vic, and could write speeding tickets and all that stuff. I found it interesting.
